Collaboratory Survey on Credit Card Usage Behavior

Purpose:  

To provide data for exploring the use of the Iterative Proportional Fitting algorithm as a means for synthetically generating credit card transactions within the IDSG Tool, a research and development project for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
 

Survey Details: 5000 randomly selected addresses in the U.S. Recipients are 18 years old, or older Three $100 American Express Gift Checks Offered as Incentive 23 multiple choice questions Survey conducted during Summer 2005
 
Response Rate ~ 8% (379 surveys returned)
 
Survey Results: Summarized in the ‘Final Report’ for the DHS Project
